I have thought on this question a lot, and ,like you, it amazes me that we can use the same Word as our foundation and be so far apart.
I present this for your consideration. Abba gives me new insight each time I read a given passage of His Word. He therefore opens our eyes as we go along, each one as He pleases. I believe that is one of the reasons why we need each other so much, together we have the picture, no "man" alone "gets" all of it.
Things get interesting when a brother comes along who Abba gave something to, and shares it. Those who are insecure and/or puffed up react like jealous little children. "Well, just who do they think they are?, surely if that were true, Abba would have shared it with ME",(never mind that He tried, and they rebuked Him) At that point they would rather "deliver" the sharer than listen to anything he has to share. The body loses so much through this kind of thing. It has been happening since the beginning. We must grow up!
Also, in the process of fighting for the faith, in the trenches,(so to speak), for years, could they have become scarred by repeated wounds, (not completely forgiven). Scars protect us from being torn again, but they also dull us to percieving a touch. Perhaps from Him? We must forgive!
If only we as a body would walk by Faith in who Abba is, that He is able to keep us until that day. We aught not fear something we do not yet understand. In Faith we can sit down and check it out, together, submitting it to Abba in prayer, and He will reveal His truth, to us, the body of Yahshua.
I see that the Torah Scroll is opened to the Ten Commandments. What a fantastic suggestion to align ourselves with the Word in order to attain unity.
