Vultures and Doves

Matthew 24:  10-28

Matthew 24: 10 At that time many will be trapped into betraying and hating each other, 11 many false prophets will appear and fool many people; 12 and many people's love will grow cold because of increased distance from Torah. 13 But whoever holds out till the end will be delivered. 14 And this Good News about the Kingdom will be announced throughout the whole world as a witness to all the Goyim. It is then that the end will come. 15 "So when you see the abomination that causes devastation spoken about through the prophet Dani'el standing in the Holy Place" (let the reader understand the allusion), 16 "that will be the time for those in Y'hudah to escape to the hills. 17 If someone is on the roof, he must not go down to gather his belongings from his house; 18 if someone is in the field, he must not turn back to get his coat. 19 What a terrible time it will be for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20 Pray that you will not have to escape in winter or on Shabbat. 

Matthew 24:  21 For there will be trouble then worse than there has ever been from the beginning of the world until now, and there will be nothing like it again! 

When is "then"?  "Then" is when the enemy begins to get bold and people begin to turn on one another.  Friends are at each other's throats, families are ripped apart.  Congregations split and fall.  Each fighting to be the one that is right. Many people's love will grow cold because of distance from Torah.  Those who were flag bearers will drop their flags for other gods.

22 Indeed, if the length of this time had not been limited, no one would survive; but for the sake of those who have been chosen, its length will be limited. 

To get beyond this devastation, our Heavenly Father limits the time of the destruction.  He does not want any He has chosen to fall prey to the enemy.  Those who feel they may have escaped the raping of the community, maybe you have been chosen.  Those who feel the battle is endless, maybe you need to look again at who you are and what you stand for.  Now is not the time to question Torah, now is the time to question our selves. 

23 "At that time, if someone says to you, `Look! Here's the Messiah!' or, `There he is!' don't believe him. 24 For there will appear false Messiahs and false prophets performing great miracles -- amazing things! -- so as to fool even the chosen, if possible. 

When someone points out a person with the greatest understanding or a deep knowledge of the Word; be cautious.  The person with an answer to everything and rapid prayer to make things right may be that false Messiah.  Be careful not to misstep by saying "No one said he is the Messiah."   There is no need for the enemy to do the obvious.  What the enemy does is take the most vulnerable and pair them up with the most anti-Messiah influential.  Our enemy knows the Scripture better than most of us.  However, an observation of the lifestyle, a close listening of the history, a watch for incongruent affect (ie. what is said and what is seen do not add up) and an inappropriate laugh usually adds up to someone who lives a life of fantasy or is deeply hurt, emotionally and spiritually.

25 There! I have told you in advance! 26 So if people say to you, `Listen! He's out in the desert!' don't go; or, `Look! He's hidden away in a secret room!' don't believe it.

Now we have been forewarned.  He may be in the office; he may be in the hallway.  He could even be at the next convention or special presentation.  One thing is for sure, if he is too good to be real, you can count on him not being the Messiah.  You can count on him being a scholar in knowledge only.   And you can rest assure, that he is in no hurry to gather you in.  He has all the time in the world.  He doesn't move rapidly - no need to stampede the flock.  Once he gets you in then he shows his true colors.  As the next verse says; the Son of Man comes like lightning!  Y'shua, our Messiah, has no need to waste one moment trying to convince us that we are messed up.  No need to convince us that we are following false doctrine.  Read it in His Words... He does not dilly dally!  27 For when the Son of Man does come, it will be like lightning that flashes out of the east and fills the sky to the western horizon.

28 Wherever there's a dead body, that's where you find the vultures

The dead bodies - the ones who want to do what is right yet seem to hold on to their old ideas.  The ones who want to be reaching out to others to show them the way, yet have difficulty in seeing their own ways are not Torah compliant.  The ones that want a place at the head of the table yet have no desire to even set the table.  The ones looking for position of importance yet run from every opportunity to jump in and lend a hand.  These are the dead bodies and these are the ones the vultures prey upon.  May YHVH be with them and bring them home.

Abba, Father -- YHVH -- the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob;  the Elohim of all gods; the Master of the Universe who knows all and sees all; the One who gives favor to those You love and repress those who do not take kindly to your direction - thank You.  Father thank You so very much for permitting me to be here at this moment.  Thank You for not giving up on me when my life was full of doubts.  Father thank You for seeing me through those years of not knowing why I even existed.  Thank You.  I love You Abba; I bless You with every fiber of my being.  Thank You for the fibers.  And above all, thank You for Y'shua Who guided me back to You.  Amein!

Refresher Course

The last blog I posted exposed the difficulty some of us have with reading. It gave a very general overview of how humans with reading challenges or not, store our data with vision; (that is the old fashion word for 'graphically through pictorial imprints'...which is, yes, you guessed; picture graphic). Do I hear a hallelujah? Amein!

In some minor discussions on this issue of which I actually felt was a onetime proposition, I was propositioned to further state my case. So, please read the blog from July 27 of 2011 and the current comment at it's conclusion. Is this an easy way out of writing a blog? No, not for me. But it does keep me from focusing on the now, and continues the dialog from a couple of years ago. Some things never change.... I am so thankful that I am not 'some things'. Listening with our Eyes

Many people who have known me over the years know that I do not enjoy talking on the phone. They also have realized that I do not enjoy E-mailing, twittering, face-booking and all the other non-contact communicating media available today. This is a primary factor in this little blog being such a challenge. This behavior surprises even me. When I was in the military, my primary function was communications. Details are not necessary. One of my duties was to communicate or enable communications with persons unseen. Very exciting. I could only imagine what the contact looked like. When telling a plane to wave off, or screaming at a chopper he’s about to hit kingposts, I could only imagine the reception I was receiving. And I equated the one on the other end with me. I could hear me and I could hear them. But it was difficult to determine to whom I was talking. Even more difficult to determine just who it was that was talking back to me. Without seeing the affect, watching the eyes, witnessing the smile or lack thereof, it was just another person. Unless, by chance we arranged to meet some place to greet one another, the person on the other end was just a voice in the wilderness. These events were surreal.

To truly hear someone, or even something, I believe we must be able to see what we are listening to.

[Note: when I read the previous sentence during proofing, I stopped and researched how does a physically blind person really hear. There is so much involved but it all goes back to “seeing” what is being heard. There are‘devices’ now available where a person without physical sight can listen to the sounds of the environment and learn to “see” that which is vital in the hearing. I have a lot to learn in this area, but I am convinced that the blind can “see” what they hear. In a report from Howard Hughes Medical Institute “Seeing, Hearing, Smelling the World”, c. 1995 Jeff Goldberg writes....in Quivering; the bundles that hear:
“There are only 16,000 hair cells in a human cochlea, compared to 100
million photoreceptors in the retina of the eye, and they are extremely vulnerable. Life in a high-decibel society of pounding jackhammers, screeching subway cars, and heavy metal rock music can take a devastating toll on them. But whatever the cause—over exposure to loud noises, disease, heredity, or aging—people tend to lose 40 percent of their hair cells by the age of 65. And once destroyed, these cells do not regenerate.”

The above referenced data indicates that vision has a tremendous enhancement to our hearing. A few years ago, I was involved in an exercise used for heightening effective listening capacity. The protocol was to simply have the group just stop and listen. The group was instructed to “inventory” all the sounds they heard. After a few minutes, without notice, all lights were turned off. The group was asked to continue taking inventory. Then the AC was shut down, then the clocks, etc. The list grew in abundance. When the noise making equipment was turned back on, the group was then asked what they heard. Observation showed that as each person looked about the room, they began to hear more than the first two phases of the drill. The result proposed that when we focus our hearing through vision, we fine tune our hearing to stimuli not noticed at first “glance”. Human sensitivity tends to degrade over time and exposure. We do not use 100 percent of their senses. Which brings me to the point of this week’s blog: Listening with our eyes.

Scripture tells us to listen with our eyes.
In Deut 6:3 we are told “Hear (Strong’s H8085) therefore, O Israel and observe (H8104) to do (it) that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
The word Hear is Strong’s H8085: shama’ shaw-mah’; to hear intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience, etc; causatively, to tell, etc. )
The use of ‘observe’ is Strong’s H8104 shamar shaw-mar’; properly, to hedge about (as with thorns), IE. Guard; generally, to protect, attend to, etc. Please pay attention to the tightness (closeness) of hear and observe.

In Deut 6:4

This all tells me that when we hear intelligently, when we combine that hearing with guarding and protecting, that when we see that which has been commanded, in this case, tzitziot, that we see Him and His Word. This is about as close to His face we can get for the time being. So. We must see to hear Him.

Step outside and take a look. He is everywhere. See Him...Hear Him! That is what He asks of us.

The supposition that when we see Him, we Hear Him is not limited to communicating with the Almighty. The ending paragraph should be sufficient. It states that to HEAR intelligently, we combine our audible hearing with guarding and protecting. This assumes that we all know what we are guarding and protecting. The example was guarding and protecting the tzitziot which we are commanded to wear so we do not forget where we come from - that is, His commandments. In today's life, we must strive to hear what we see, not see what we hear.. If we don't see it, if we are not a part of it, then in my mind, when we hear it, it is not firsthand knowledge and therefore can be guilty of lashon harah. Then I ask, what are we guarding? What are we protecting?

Just as the blue thread presents a picture beyond a thousand words, a misspoken word can present a picture of unending consequence. The word is free to travel, and trying to gather it back to the source is futile. Let us choose our words wisely, let us listen to others with discretion and let us be open and honest with one another on this journey to see His Face.

May our Heavenly Father continue to guide us and love us. May He continue to overlook but discipline our shortcomings. And may we remind our own selves how delicate and vulnerable we are: Easy to be led and difficult to be changed! Once the mind is made up, only Divine Intervention will change it. No one living can convince us unless we are willing to be convinced.

Love to you one and all and thank you for being there each time I need you. What a wonderful feeling it is to know that I can be wrong, and you will let me know very gently and compassionately.

Father, You and You alone have opened the doors for me. You and You alone have brought so many into my path in order to salvage me. I pray that I am strong enough to endure to the end so that I can hear you say; Well done my true and faithful servant. I love you Abba and thank for Y'shua haMashiach who took me from the crowd and pointed me in Your direction.
